Falmouth Oyster Festival

The Falmouth Oyster festival is an annual event, which this year took place on the weekend of the 16th - 19th October 2008.

"The Falmouth Oyster Festival celebrates the start of the oyster season and the diversity and quality of Cornish Seafood and in particular, one of the last remaining traditional oyster fisheries."

The weekend was a success for Falmouth, bringing tourists to the area and was an opportunity for tourists and locals alike to try local oysters, watch cookery demonstrations and get involved with the celebrations on the waterfront in Events Square. Falmouth isn't the only town to boast an Oyster Festival, these celebrations take place all over the UK and the rest of the world, from Galway to South Africa!
